I was born and raised in San Diego with a loving and supportive Christian family. Both of my parents worked, and we lived in a close-knit neighborhood where we truly embraced the “it takes a village” proverb. The love, support, and fun traditions we shared with our family and community provided me with a wonderful childhood experience.

I have had a heart for young children, especially infants and toddlers, for as long as I can remember. I babysat and nannied, and graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with my Bachelors Degree in Child Development and Early Childhood Education. In addition to being a professional Nanny, I have had experience running an in-home family childcare facility with twelve young children and a small staff. I was also a teacher of infants and toddlers at a local preschool. Each experience has provided me with the opportunity to work with a wide range of ages and class sizes preparing me to set out and start Shining Light Family Childcare!

I am a Licensed Professional Childcare Provider and I take my job very seriously. I am CPR and First Aid Certified for adults/children/infants with A-B-CPR, including AED. I participate in continuing education classes in Family Child care topics, such as Preventative Health and Safety, and Understanding the Business of Family Childcare. It's important for me to grow in my knowledge of children and stay up to date on new rules and regulations.

My passion for young children is my calling. It fills my heart with joy to help families by providing a safe and loving "home away from home" for their children to grow and develop. I want to help each child explore their own world in the beauty of nature. Each child is unique and has the opportunity to grow and develop in their own way. The community that surrounds each child plays an important role in allowing their special light to shine.  I am looking forward to being one source of light in your child’s village!
